What does it mean to “Be what’s happening”? I guess it depends on the individual but whenever I came up with our motivational slogan, it was certainly meant to get people out of their seats and involved with their surroundings. We have so many opportunities to expand our comfort zones, why do we choose to collect dust instead? In theory it should make the entire world a better place… meet some new people, learn about other places, try some mysterious new food… Getting comfortable and then pushing your comfort zone a little can be immensely beneficial.
Our area is undergoing a lot of growth and as new businesses open and existing businesses continue to grow, it is up to us, the community, to rally around those businesses with support. The local business world is an important facet of an area’s culture. We have so many artisans, chefs and creators in our area that it would be criminal not to support and celebrate them.
The way I describe an area that I have visited always comes down to a few simple things. Sights, sounds, flavors and vibes. With 2019 coming to a close, I encourage all of you to find some new favorite things. If there are things popping off around here that you would like to know more about, shoot an email to Jusin@wiregrasslocal.com and you may just see it featured in The Local.
