Live your BEST LIFE in 2020
The presents have all been unwrapped, the ugly sweaters have been worn and the New Year has been appropriately rung in with great fanfare and merriment. From Halloween to the Peanut drop you have partied like Jay Gatsby and now your back hurts and your jeans won’t button. Nice.
Pour out the rest of that eggnog and step away from the peanut butter buckeyes. Total body health is IN, and the Wiregrass area has some phenomenal businesses whose entire reason for existence is to put you on the right track to be living your absolute BEST LIFE in 2020. So whether you are looking for healthy ready-prepped meal options, great tasting shakes when you are on the go, or even if you are looking for a natural alternative to help you with those achy joints or post-holiday inflammation, I have compiled some amazing options to help you start this decade off right.
- Eve’s Garden – 2323 W Main St. Dothan (334)699-1414
Beautiful organic vegetarian/vegan friendly menu. Plant-based diets are nothing new, but Eve’s Garden brings a fresh approach to excite your taste buds. They have ingredients that you won’t find anywhere else in Dothan. Go try their vegan taco salad! So good! They are open Monday-Friday from 8 to 5:30.
- Vibe Nutrition (Dothan) Mon-Fri 9-2
Groove Nutrition (Headland) Mon-Fri 7am-4pm
Warrior Nutrition (Midland City) Mon-Fri 7-11
Vibe just opened in the old Village Cleaners building in April of last year, but it has quickly sprouted partners in the surrounding area to become the go to for shakes, teabombs, and my personal favorite, aloe shots (aids digestion and hydrates to give you glowing skin)! They offer a great variety of shakes you can drink as a meal replacement that won’t leave you lacking in nutrition.
- Clean Eatz – 560 Westgate Pkwy. (334)446-4665
If you are looking to eat better and have no clue where to begin, Clean Eatz can help take the guesswork out of your journey. They offer clean, well-balanced meals that can be customized to your specific dietary needs, and are perfectly portioned and ready to eat. Their build-a-bowl option gives you so many different combinations of ingredients, you won’t get bored of your food.
- Black Cat Bakeshop and Kitchen – 123 N. Main St. Enterprise (334)475-4600
I have written about Black Cat before, I know, BUT it really is worth revisiting for this particular topic because of their attention to those who are living a Keto lifestyle. My husband has been doing keto for some time now, and it can be difficult to find things that work for his diet that taste GOOD, especially for the occasional sweet treat. They have a keto cheesecake in several flavors that is perfect for a keto splurge.
- The Byrd Feeder – 1971 South Brannon Stand Rd.
Wonderful selection of beautiful, quality food. Freezer meals, macro and keto friendly options. Their low carb pizza is the JAM and the cheesy buffalo cauliflower is delicious!
You will have no trouble at all keeping on track with goals with a fridge full of meals from The Byrd Feeder. Scouts honor.
- Well Rooted – 1618 W Main St. Dothan (334) 618-8065 Mon-Fri 10-6 and Sat 10-2
Not food related, but this new kid on the block deserves a shout out for other reasons. CBD has popped up in shops and gas stations all over town, but I encourage you to ignore that and go see what Seaborn has created over at Well Rooted. Not only does he personally know where their hemp is grown, tested and packaged, but he has created an environment in a boutique that rivals Anthropologie. If inflammation, depression or pain are what is keeping you from meeting health goals in 2020, I strongly suggest you go talk to his staff about their oils, creams, bath bombs and gummies.
This new decade is a fresh start for your health! Get out there and be what’s happening!
