Sumerlyn Eats: Gourmet
The kitchen is the heart of the home, where we laugh, dance, drink and spend hours staring into the fridge; but most importantly, in the kitchen we spend precious moments with our family. If we’re lucky enough, we learn a thing or two. Luckily for Dothan, Erin Hayes, the owner of Gourmet, did just that. She grew up cooking with her grandmother, learning her recipes, her secrets and how to develop her own. She took her love for cooking and turned it into a successful business whose goal is for even the busiest of families to have a healthy home-cooked meal. Gourmet specializes in freshly-made meals that only require a little time in the oven. They always have a variety of meals, dips and soups to choose from in-store daily, plus a full made-to-order menu for any upcoming events and entertaining you may have. Erin hooked me up with so many delicious meals, I don’t know where to start! The chicken enchiladas and Mexican rice with fresh salsa is to die for. Seriously, they’re the best I’ve ever had. The apple toffee dip and bacon popper dip was devoured in about five minutes at our football party. Also, the perfectly-portioned paleo meals, such as the dill salmon and Tuscan lemon chicken, make is so easy to enjoy what you’re eating while watching your waistline. Healthy has never tasted so good! Go check them out and tell them the Local sent you.
