Sumerlyn Eats: Granny’s Kitchen
This month I had the opportunity to try one of the newer restaurants in town, Granny’s Kitchen. They have been open just a few months, but based upon the quality of the food they are serving I expect they will be here for years to come. They are located on the north side of the Ross Clark Circle in a brand new building beside the Jeep dealership. Granny’s features southern-style home cooking in your classic 1 meat, 3 veggies format. I had the bone-in fried catfish which they feature daily, and I must say it was mighty fine. The Local’s Justin April joined me and had the fried pork chops, and he ate them like a one-year-old eating his first cupcake. I think it’s safe to say Granny’s fried pork chops have his approval. Granny’s is clean, and sports a much more modern decor than you will find in a typical home cooking restaurant in this area. The atmosphere makes it a perfect place for a business lunch or a get-together with friends. Tea comes with the meal, but they also have a fully-stocked bar and cold beer on tap if you’re feeling that special kind of thirsty. Check them out at 4084 Ross Clark Circle in Dothan, and tell them The Local sent you.
